Our fashion blog editor, Ms. Elitou enjoyed a wonderful sunny day in Philadelphia wearing black pearls from our Black Label Collection. The Edith Earrings made of sterling silver and freshwater pearls are very delicate and feminine and look great with almost anything.

She also wore the heart-shaped Carlin Pendant that is also a part of the Black Label Collection.The Carlin Pendant is made of 14kt white gold, Japanese Akoya Pearl, and accented with a few diamonds. Ms. Elitou chose to wear it with a black and white striped blazer, and for accent, she added a purple shirt. read more

Pearls are very beautiful and special gems. They are the only gems that are naturally created from a living creature, and they look beautiful in a strand that fits so elegantly on our necks and arms. But what many people are unaware of is that pearls are also used to care for the skin. The precious water gems are an ancient Chinese secret that has now become worldly known.

Freshwater or Saltwater Pearls are crushed into a powder and used as a skin care treatment for people who had inflamed skin. Pearls are considered by its advocates to help improve the appearance of the skin. To take 1 gram of pearl powder by mouth, traditionally mixed into water or tea, twice weekly could reduce redness of the skin almost instantly. Also, it is widely used as a treatment for acne as it is thought to have a purifying effect on the skin, especially that which is sensitive, and to be effective at fading acne scars. read more

PEARLS ON THE RUNWAY: Victoria’s Secrets’ “Pearly Queen”

Victoria’s Secret enthusiasts were all hailing the new Vickie’s collection especially the “Pearly Queen” look worn by top model, Adriana.

The look was appropriately named “Pearly Queen” due to its unique and spectacular design of black undergarments perfectly adorned with 3,000 embroidered pearl buttons. The costume also featured matching sleeves with collar, and a chic hat which was also dazzling with pearls. The look would not be complete without the Vickie’s signature wings.

The costume was debuted during the British invasion section of the show giving the ‘queen’ portion of the name appropriate. read more
