Before there was Grace Jones and “her dare to be different” posing and unique and artistic style, there was Miss Josephine Baker and she was fabulous!

A woman of class and substance, “La Baker” was an amazing muse for some of the most recognized and influential artist in the world which included Langston Hughes, Pablo Picasso and Christian Dior. Famous for her burlesque dancing and her banana skirt dance for the stage play, Danse Sauvage, Ms. Baker was also a lady who believed in equality and before there Angelina Jolie, she adopted 12 children to show that people and live and grow in harmony becoming brothers and sisters. read more

The cute netted crop top filled with pearls made her the catch of the day. The high-low skirt with sparkling embroidery was classic chic and the shoes… we love! Pearls and more pearls are just so glamorous.

We love pearls here at Pearls Only and we love to discover new things that are adorned with the water gems. So while we were browsing the internet for all things pearls, we can across this unique and interesting shoe. Once sold at Top Shop (the shoe is no longer listed), this shoe with its long lashes and ruby red lips with pearl ankle strap had us scratching our heads.
