What is Nacre?

In the technical sense, nacre is the composition of aragonite and calcite platelets that are bound together by conchiolin that completely compose natural and tissue-cultured freshwater pearls and the coating on the nucleus of bead-cultured pearls. In laymen terms, pearls are nacre and nacre is what makes them valuable and what makes them shine.
